This fall take the family to Mulberry Pond Pumpkin Patch near Hiawatha to enjoy a relaxing day on the farm.
Meryl and Staci Charles got the idea to start a pumpkin patch last year. Their love of gardening and joy for sharing their farm experiences with others led them to opening their business.
At Mulberry Pond, kids can play on a hay bale mountain with a huge tube slide or a hay fort, use a pumpkin sling shot, drive all-terrian trikes, or ride on a pumpkin trailer. This year the Charles have planted a variety of pumpkins from minis, white, baby boos, and jack-o-lantern style pumpkins.
Enterprise Facilitator Teresa McAnerney has enjoyed working with the Charles, and says their passion for children and family shines through in their business.
Mulberry Pond is open for business on Saturdays from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 7pm. The pond is located at 2252 Mulberry Road in Hiawatha.
