November 2007, Karen and Melissa purchased what was formerly Room to Breathe, on the mall in Atchison, and rechristened it Cottage of the Seasons. Like its predecessor, the store features home and garden décor items such as fountains, wind chimes, birdhouses, and candles. But, Melissa and Karen have added lots of new inventory and their own special touches. When the two decided to look into buying the business, they had no clue where to start. “Facilitator Janet Griesel guided us through every step and helped us think things through, we couldn’t have done it without her.”
